My Story

                                                                 Hi there. Just a little bit about me.

I’m in my midlife (only physically obviously), and I'm not sure how it happened but here we are. 

l'm living in the North West of England, navigating the rollercoaster that is perimenopause while

raising two brilliant kids.

A few years into being a mum,  my husband passed away, the kids lost their dad and I needed every ounce of strength and knowledge to navigate us all through.

In the “after,” I leaned hard on mindfulness, meditation, and wellbeing practices to help. They didn’t fix everything, but they gave me something to focus on and move slowly through to feeling a bit better. 

Along the way, I wrote a couple of mindfulness books for children, partly to help my kids, partly to help myself and partly to show others that there are practices, through reading and writing and experiencing which do actually really help. Explaining big ideas in simple language turned out to be one of the most grounding and powerful things I could do.

 I went for countless psychic Medium readings, I qualified in Holistic Hypnotherapy, I am a Reiki Practitioner and have my Mindfulness Now qualification.

​I went on a psychic development course, in fact 2 of those, I read Tarot cards, I implemented vision boards, Law of attraction techniques. You name it, I tried it and I continue to do so. And although some things didnt stick, I maintain that every single practice helped me move on. Helped me to get though the next moment and anchor me. Each practice had, and has its value.

Some of it was confusing and some of it I didnt get along with (spirulina smoothies.. I'm looking at you here !)

But here I am. Still trying new things, finding out ways to heal old wounds, create a new exciting life and now I get to do it whilst I navigate work, menopause and teenagers too ..Wahhooo!!

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  My background is a bit of a patchwork: I studied Sociology at University                                                                                    in the ’90s, (most of it is now a blur, it was the 90's), hopped through a                                                                                       few jobs, travelled, and eventually settled into motherhood, family life,                                                                                      and the daily chaos that comes with it. These days, I’m focused on sharing                                                                                the practices, recipes, books and experiences that make life a little calmer,                                                                              lighter, and sometimes just more fun.

This blog is my space to share what I’ve tried, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what I’m still figuring out. From sage cleansing and meditation, to soups, journaling, Reiki and book reviews. It’s not about being perfect or having all the answers (spoiler: I don’t). It’s about being honest, curious, and maybe giving someone else a nudge of encouragement along the way.

If you’re a woman in midlife, or just starting to see it come over the horizon,  whether you’re juggling hot flushes, grief, parenting, or just the ordinary overwhelm of life,  I hope you’ll find something that helps, comforts, or makes you laugh.
