My Story

Hi there. Just a little bit about me.

Once upon a time  (in the olden days, as my kids like to remind me), I snagged a BSc ( Hons) in Sociology from the University of Salford.

Fast forward through a whirlwind of work, travel, and life's crazy twists and turns,                                                                                                                and here I am, nestled in the heart of beautiful Cheshire, UK.

Life threw some curveballs my way – as it does for all of us – but amidst the chaos, I found

solace in Mindfulness and meditation, and was eager to incorporate these practices into my everyday life.

A few years down the line, and I found myself knee-deep in the joyful chaos of motherhood, with two little rascals of my own. They're my greatest adventure yet!

Mindfulness became my anchor, and when tragedy struck our family, with the sudden death of my husband and the                                                         kids' dad, leaving us reeling with grief and uncertainty, books and mindfulness became our lifeline. They were a                                                               guiding light through the rollercoaster of grief and loss.

Inspired by the healing power of storytelling, I set out to write my own children's picture books, (using my pen name Francesca Martin), weaving together themes of mindfulness, grief management, and emotional regulation to create stories that not only entertain but also heal.

We're talking books that sparkle with hope, twinkle with magic, and remind us all that even in the darkest of times, there's light to be found. Because let's face it, life's too short for boring stories and stuffy lessons.

Through writing and creating these stories I also came to realise that parents

and carers need a little help incorporating mindfulness into family life too,

and so Black Cat wellbeing was created. My gorgeous Black cat Loki being the inspiration for that.

I'm now a certified Mindfulness Now teacher and Reiki practitioner, ready to help with tips and ideas to sprinkle a little                                                      calm into your family's day.

So whether you're seeking solace in the pages of a book or looking to dive deep into the world of mindfulness, I'm here to guide you on your journey.

I hope you enjoy adding a little mindfulness

into your life and please contact me if you

         have any questions.
